Bring your own subscription

Connect your Claude or ChatGPT plan. Model tokens are on your plan.

Connect your Claude or ChatGPT plan once and eligible model usage costs nothing — your subscription covers the tokens. You pay AgentSky for cloud compute while the agent runs.

Setup

Connect once, from your own computer.

Your subscription credential lives on the machine where Claude Code or Codex is signed in, so you produce it there and hand it to Settings → BYOK. Do it once; every eligible agent you create afterwards uses the subscription automatically.

01

Claude Pro or Max

Covers Claude Code agents on any Claude model — Opus, Fable, or Sonnet. Anthropic’s own headless sign-in prints a long-lived sk-ant-oat… token; paste it into Settings → BYOK.

claude setup-token
02

ChatGPT Plus or Pro

Covers Codex agents on GPT models. Signing Codex in writes ~/.codex/auth.json; upload that file in Settings → BYOK. The folder is hidden — on a Mac press ⌘⇧. in the file picker.

Launch an agent

Create a Claude Code or Codex agent from the web or API. If you have a connected subscription, eligible model usage is $0 from the first request — no additional configuration needed.

Coverage

What the subscription covers.

Your plan pays for model tokens. The pricing page shows what compute and add-on charges look like separately.

Covered by your subscription

  • Model token usage for eligible harness + model pairs
  • All requests to the model across every agent turn
  • Retries the provider allows within your plan tier

Still billed separately

  • Cloud compute time — per-second while the agent is active
  • Tools: browser, web search, image and video generation
  • App connectors and channel add-ons
  • Harnesses that use their own API keys (Hermes, OpenClaw, DeepSeek Harness, Kimi Code, opencode, pi)

FAQ

Common questions.

Which subscription plans are eligible and which agents do they cover?

A Claude Pro or Max plan covers Claude Code agents running on any Claude model — Opus, Fable, or Sonnet. A ChatGPT Plus or Pro plan covers Codex agents running on GPT models. Other harnesses — Hermes, OpenClaw, DeepSeek Harness, Kimi Code, opencode, and pi — use their own API credentials and are not eligible for subscription coverage today.

What does the subscription actually cover and what do I still pay AgentSky for?

The subscription covers model usage only — the tokens the Claude or GPT model processes on each agent turn. You continue to pay AgentSky’s per-second compute rate while the agent is active, plus any add-ons you configure: computer, connectors, and channels. Runtime, tools, and orchestration are not part of your subscription plan.

What happens when my subscription reaches its own rate limit?

AgentSky respects whatever limits Anthropic or OpenAI impose on your plan tier. If the subscription hits a rate limit mid-task, the agent pauses and retries according to the provider’s retry guidance. If the limit cannot be cleared in the current turn, the turn fails gracefully and the session state is preserved so you can resume. Upgrading your subscription plan is the only way to raise that limit.

How do I connect my subscription and can I remove it later?

Both paths run in Settings → BYOK. For Claude, run claude setup-token on the machine where Claude Code is signed in and paste the sk-ant-oat… token it prints. For ChatGPT, run codex login and upload the ~/.codex/auth.json it writes. Either credential travels over TLS, is stored encrypted, and is write-only — it can be replaced or removed, never read back. Disconnect from the same panel; agents running on the subscription pause with a warning rather than falling back to your wallet.

Why isn’t there a “Connect with ChatGPT” button?

OpenAI does not publish an OAuth app that would let a third party run Codex on your plan, and there is no ChatGPT equivalent of Anthropic’s claude setup-token — a single long-lived string you can paste. What a ChatGPT sign-in produces is the multi-field file codex login writes to ~/.codex/auth.json. So AgentSky takes that file the one way that cannot be mistyped: you upload it in Settings → BYOK. Anthropic does mint a pasteable token, which is why the Claude card has a paste field instead.

Will existing agents automatically switch to the subscription after I connect it?

The connected subscription becomes the default for new agents that match the eligible harness and model combination. Existing agents keep their current model source unless you explicitly reassign them in account settings. You can assign or unassign the subscription per agent at any time.

Your model plan already covers this.
