"This Mac" lends a folder on your Mac to a cloud agent: lending the folder is the permission, so the agent reads and changes its files without asking.
Use this when you want an agent to work with local files — code, documents, or data — without uploading them first. The agent works on the live folder, so it always sees your latest files.
- In the chat composer, click the folder chip and choose "This Mac".
- Pick the folder you want to lend.
- The agent works in the folder. Writes, moves and moving files to the Trash go ahead without a question.
- When you are done, choose Remove next to it in Settings › This Mac › Live folders.
Where: Mac app › composer folder chip (labelled "Add folder").
Good to know: lend only a folder you are happy for the agent to change. A cloud agent can also start a local agent on your Mac; it starts without a question, and its commands do not ask either. To upload a copy instead, see Copy a folder on your Mac to the cloud.
