Which browser a chat uses

Updated October 25, 2026

A chat uses the browser of the person who sends the turn: your own logins when you send it, a teammate's when they do.

The Browser tab in a chat offers:

  • Mine — your browser's logins. New sign-ins are saved to your browser.
  • <name> shared with you — the sites a teammate shared with you. Your agent can use them; new sign-ins are not saved there.
  • Signed out — starts signed out. Nothing is loaded or saved.
  1. Open a chat.
  2. Open the Browser tab in the right-hand panel.
  3. Choose at the top. The change applies from the next turn.

Where: Web and Mac › right-hand panel › Browser tab.

The top of the Browser tab says where the chat runs and which logins it uses, for example "In the cloud · Mine". A chat shared by link or with viewers starts signed out, and the Browser tab says why. Your logins stay saved.

When a teammate continues your chat, their turn uses their own browser, never yours. The chat's computer is restarted first so your logins are not left where their agent could reach them. If a browser stops being shared with you, the chat starts signed out until you choose again. Related: Share your browser logins, Manage saved browser logins.
